I personally receive a lot of emails a day, and that makes it difficult to figure out which ones are important so I can open them and not waste time on emails that are not important. Fortunately - there is a new Google Chrome extension ready to help with that.
Gmail Sender Icons - extracts sender email address, parses website domain from link, and pulls favicon image (often same as logo) of domain. Then add the company logo and domain image as a tag to the subject of the message making it easy to quickly identify the sender of the message.
As Agarwal points out , it is not only useful for identifying emails in our main inbox - but also in the spam folder that may have been misidentified as spam by Gmail filters.
